The museum houses an extensive collection of traditional Mayan clothing from various regions of Guatemala, including intricately embroidered huipiles (blouses), skirts, and sashes. These garments reflect the unique identity of each community, with patterns and colors that carry deep cultural and spiritual significance. Visitors can admire textiles that date back centuries, as well as contemporary designs that demonstrate the evolution of this living art form. A visit to Kaminaljuyú, an ancient Mayan city nestled within Guatemala City, offers travelers a unique opportunity to step back in time and explore one of Mesoamerica’s most significant archaeological sites. Once a thriving cultural and trade hub dating back over 2,000 years, Kaminaljuyú was renowned for its advanced engineering, sprawling temples, and sophisticated water systems. The Museo Miraflores offers a captivating journey into the ancient world of the Maya while blending it with modern cultural experiences.
