Exhibition and Lecture on Cobá

Fifty years ago, the Cobá Archaeological and Topographical Project in Quintana Roo, led by George Stuart and William Folan, conducted field seasons in Cobá. Today, “COBA: MORE THAN 50 YEARS OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL RESEARCH” will allow us to view some of the images from the Boundary End Archaeology Research Center's collection from that time, as well as from other projects that have worked at this site.
We invite you to the opening of the photo exhibition and the talk by Dr. David Stuart (UT/BEARC): THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF THE ANCIENT COBÁ" at the Cancun Maya Museum, September 4 at 19:30 p.m.
For this event, we are collaborating with the National Institute of Anthropology and History, INAH Quintana Roo Center, Cancun Maya Museum, Mexican Cultural Institute DC, and the local authorities of Cobá.
See you on October 15 at the Mexican Cultural Institute DC, where we will also be sharing this exhibition. And we will be in Cobá town in December 2026.

Hace 50 años el Proyecto Arqueológico y Topográfico de Cobá, Quintana Roo, dirigido por George Stuart y William Folan, tuvo sus primeras temporadas de campo en Cobá.
Hoy " COBÁ: A MÁS DE 50 AÑOS DE INVESTIGACIÓN ARQUEOLÓGICA", nos permitirá observar algunas de las imágenes, de la colección del Boundary End Archaeology Research Center, de aquel entonces, y de otros proyectos que han trabajado en este sitio.
Les invitamos a la inauguración de la exposición fotográfica y a la charla que dará el Dr. David Stuart de la The University of Texas at Austin, Director del Boundary End Archaeology Research Center y de The Mesoamerica Center-University of Texas at Austin Museo Maya de Cancún, 4 de septiembre a las 19:30 hrs.
Para este evento colaboramos con el Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia, Centro INAH Quintana Roo, Museo Maya de Cancún, Mexican Cultural Institute DC, y las autoridades locales de Cobá.
El 16 de octubre nos vemos en el Mexican Cultural Institute DC, y en Cobá en diciembre de 2026 para compartir también por allá esta exposición, estén pendientes.
